SpringSoft's founding team created two uniquely powerful EDA products: the Debussy® Debug System and the LakerTM IC Layout System. Although these two products address distinct applications, they share a common core characteristic: they automate tedious, time-consuming tasks to accelerate engineers through tough spots in the chip design and verification flow so they can focus on value-adding activities.
Unique Business Model
SpringSoft also pioneered a unique business model, creating a worldwide network of entrepreneurial companies to distribute and support these products, and to build additional technologies and products. This network included Novas Software, which established the market for debug automation, built a reputation for #1 customer satisfaction, and added unique verification enhancement technology to SpringSoft's portfolio; and Silicon Canvas, which established the Laker brand in the US.
Today, SpringSoft has consolidated its network into a single global company with multiple product lines, support operations in every region where chips are designed, and multiple R&D sites, led by a group of seasoned executives located in two headquarters: one in Hsinchu, Taiwan and the other in San Jose, California. In March 2009, SpringSoft completed the acquisition of Certess and the CertitudeTM Functional Qualification Technology.

award-winning product portfolio features the NovasTM Verification Enhancement Solutions and Laker Custom IC Design Solutions. Together, these products are

The Novas line is based on unique knowledge-based debug, behavior analysis,
essential signal analysis, data expansion, and verification closure technologies.
It includes the industry-leading Automated Debug System (VerdiTM) that cuts
debug time in half and the world's only Visibility Automation System (SilotiTM)
that minimizes simulation overhead. The
newest addition to the Novas line is the Functional Qualification System (Certitude)
that ensures verification quality. All three products have garnered numerous
industry awards.
The Laker line features unique controllable custom layout automation and an
advanced Design-Driven Layout flow enabled by our patented MCell technology for
device manipulation. Automatically leveraging design information from
schematics, netlists, physical design rules, and both extracted and
user-specified constraints, our controllable automation allows users to craft
the highest quality custom layout designs with less effort. These technologies
are delivered in the Laker Custom Layout System and the Laker ADP Advanced
Design Platform.
