DeepChip.com EDA Vendor Survey Results
Part of a recent DeepChip post about Synopsys contained some interesting survey data. As a rebuttal to the monopolistic Synopsys “Primary EDA Vendor” pitch, the question to users was:
“Could you please name (by company) all the different EDA vendors your company uses to get from design algorithms to GDSII tapeout?”
After Synopsys, Cadence and Mentor, we find Denali, Atrenta and Springsoft rising above everyone else, and with a decent margin. They rose above Magma, Apache, FPGA vendors and a host of small EDA hopefuls. It's interesting to note that these three companies are the same ones promoting the "I Love DAC" program with free exhibit passes to the 2010 Design Automation Conference in Anahiem for users and out of work EDA types (bloggers). Are the survey results just a manifestation of good Karma?
