PANASONIC'S AVC NETWORKS COMPANY EXTENDS DEPLOYMENT OF SPRINGSOFT'S VERDI DEBUG SYSTEM TO SPEED UP LSI DEVELOPMENT

Hsinchu, Taiwan, August 3, 2009 - SpringSoft, Inc. (TAIEX: 2473), a global supplier of specialized IC design software, today announced that AVC Networks Company of Panasonic Corporation has extended the terms of its comprehensive agreement for the SpringSoft VerdiTM Automated Debug System. The agreement with SpringSoft broadens Panasonic's existing deployment of the Verdi system for logic verification and analysis.

The Verdi system has reduced turnaround time and improved the quality of large-scale integration (LSI) designs for consumer devices at Panasonic. The analog waveform viewer has been especially effective for debugging video signal processing circuits and the logic operations in control circuits.

"The time and cost associated with the initial logic development and feature verification of today's large and complex LSI designs is vast," said Mr. Hiroaki Shimazaki, chief engineer for the Technology Planning & Development Center at Panasonic AVC Networks. "We've been using Verdi for several years now and have significantly reduced debug cycles, which is the most time-consuming verification task, while also improving the quality of circuit designs. With Verdi's differentiated and automated debug features, I expect to continue to see impressive results that will further speed up verification and enhance design quality."

"The time-to-market pressures and advanced feature requirements facing consumer product development teams are extraordinary," said Thomas Li, director of product marketing for SpringSoft. "Verdi's ability to meet Panasonic's debug and verification needs allows them to focus on getting high quality products to market faster."

Verdi Automated Debug System

The Verdi Automated Debug System is SpringSoft's flagship product for advanced debug.  It cuts debug time in half by automating the process of comprehending how complex IC and SoC designs work. The full-featured system automates behavior tracing over time with its unique analysis engines, provides a powerful set of design views to visualize and help analyze cause-and-effect relationships, and uses patented techniques to reveal the functional operation and interaction between the design, assertions, and system testbench.
