Editable Schematic View in Verdi
The Verdi schematic debug view is a well known and used feature for visualizing and debugging the design. However when you need to print the schematic for documentation purposes, you may want to filter out some unnecessary details, rearrange the layout or add some text comments. These editing capabilities were not in the original Verdi schematic debug view. Now, a newly designed editable schematic view is available in Verdi that provides many useful editing and exporting commands.
Invoking the editable schematic window
The editable schematic window can be invoked from both the nSchema and nTrace windows. In an opened nSchema window, you can invoke the command Tools > New Schematic > Editable Window For All to bring up the editable schematic window for all items shown in the current opened schematic view. You can also invoke the command Tools > New Schematic > Editable Window For Selected to open the editable schematic window just for selected items.

You
can easily select and move selected items in the editable schematic
window by right clicking on your mouse. When you move or reshape the
module, all connections will be rearranged accordingly and
automatically. If the schematic looks messy and you would like Verdi to
optimize it automatically, you can invoke the command Tools > Rearrange Schematic. Verdi will automatically rearrange all items in the editable schematic window with Verdi’s schematic routing capability. The
editable schematic window also provides some basic editing commands to
let you optimize the view yourself, such as Rotate, Flip, and Align. You can also insert your own comments on the schematic. First, you will need to create a comment box using the command Object > Add Comment….Then,
you can directly type in your comments after placing the cursor in the
comment box. If you would like to add more information in the comment
box, select the comment box, then invoke the command Object > Edit Comment Content….
The Comment Box Content form will pop up to let you add more data, and
the comment you added will be shown as an attachment in the comment
box. Of course, the property of the comment box can be changed by using
command RMB > Viewing Properties. You can change the font size, color, text alignment in this form. Since
the main purpose of the editable schematic window is for documentation,
it provides rich formats and settings for exporting. After the editing
is done, invoke the command File > Print to bring up the nSchema Print
form. In this form, you can edit various settings such as page size,
color…or even add extra information like your signature on the printed
page. Regarding the exporting format, currently four kinds of formats
are supported: PostScript Level1, PostScript Level2, MIF, and Enhanced MetaFile. You can select the option To File in the Destination field then choose one of above formats for your documentation. Editing commands
