Support for SOC Encounter Timing Report

The Verdi system has provided direct import and visualization for PrimeTime timing reports for years. Users can import the PrimeTime report directly to view the results in a dedicated window with rich sorting schemes, and the violation path can also be visualized in the schematic view with annotated delay time and meaningful gate symbols with the click of a button.

Starting from Verdi 2009.07, this capability has been extended to support the SOC Encounter timing report. Users can directly import the STA report from SOC Encounter into the Verdi system, and debug timing violations in the dedicated window, just like the support for PrimeTime timing reports. To debug with the SOC Encounter timing report, use the following steps:

1. In nTrace, invoke the command File -> Import Path Data File to open the Import Report File form.
2. Enable the SE Report option in the Select File field, then select an existing SOC Encounter timing report and click OK. This brings up the Timing Report window to let users to view the result. Rich sorting schemes are provided in this window for browsing the report.
3. In the Timing Report window, select violation path of interest, and click on the Show button to visualize the path in a file viewer or a schematic view.
